Any other day...
Any other day in England, and the news would have been dominated by the fact that not only has David Beckham been replaced by John Terry as the new England captain, but that he has also been dropped from the England squad. That news item got a little eclipsed, though, as it happened to coincide with the news that the entire air space between London and the US--along with all of the people in it--was supposed to be blown up.There's really not much to say here that hasn't been said on various news reports, but in typical stoic Brit-fashion, it is 'business as usual' here. Which is kind of nice, because although the country is at a unprecedented 'Critical' alert level, going about our days as normal kind of makes it easier to deal with being a long, long way from home.
